Flashing Sunglasses, a cool way to express yourself

Lighted Sunglasses have become a craze hit in many parts of the country. Originally they were designed using EL (Electro-luminescence) wire laid around the frame of the glasses. They looked great but had one major problem... They had to have a 2 x AA battery pack attached to the sunglasses via a power cord. So literally you had a power pack in your pocket, and the glasses on your head. Not to mention they are expensive, the cheapest place I just found them were selling them at $8.50 wholesale

This never seemed to convenient or 'cool' to have to walk around with a power pack the size of a beeper tethered to your head.

Instead we came out with the LED (Light Emiting Diode) Version!!! and these things are cool ! No more need for large battery packs attached with wires, but instead a small watch battery compartment behind the ear as part of the the glasses.

You can also choose the setting you want the lighted sunglasses to illuminate at, slow blink, fast blink, rotate, reverse, or constant on. And another cool feature is that you can have the lights in different colors (you can't do that with EL lighted sunglasses).

Confetti guns, the new party poppers

So when I was a kid the coolest thing for a party to have were party poppers, you remember you pulled a string and a little gun powder went off shooting lite three or four streamers into the air. Now imagine that with more streamers and in the shape of a plastic gun with 6 full chambers of streamers!
Seriously no kidding, this confetti gun pops a full amount of confetti and streamers with each pull of the trigger. Obviously you wouldn't want to point it at someone but rather in the air to shower an event with a fun party atmosphere!

And the best part is that when you're done with all 6 shots you simply open it up and put in another round of 6 shots (the link takes you to purchase more 'rounds') to keep on with the fun.

NOTICE* This still uses a small amount of black powder to cause the force needed to project the confetti. With this never point the gun at people or animals!

See the youtube video below for more information about this AMAZINGLY fun and Addictive party toy. To tell you the truth we shot more scenes then we needed just so we could keep playing with it!

Step by Step: Get That Party Started

Alright, so summer 2008 is only weeks away, and before you pick up (the three P's) your inner Party Planner Personality there are a few things you MUST know prior to throwing your part, as well as during the event.

1) First things first, please Do Not invite a larger number of people than your place can actually hold. This is a bad idea because when it is over crowded people break things, steal, guest become uncomfortable, leading to a higher possibility of conflict because of your uncomfortable guest. I'd say no more then 1 person per 15 sq feet, find out your room size here.

2) The second must should already be known but if it is not, make sure all of your party supplies like glow sticks, cups, and any other "nick knacks" you want at your event are purchased in bulk from Windy City Novelties inc. If you get it from anywhere else your party will suck, trust me.
Here check it out:

3) Simply just make sure the Music Is Good!! this means ABSOLUTELY no YMCA, Macho Macho Man, Soulja Boy, Cotton Eyed Joe, and PLEASE try to keep the Electric slide to a minimum, one time is enough.

Suggested Artist: R-Side, Justin Timberlake, T Pain, Nelly Furtado, Timbaland, Chris Brown.

4) If your event is open bar make sure you have enough drinks to last you through the night and the following day, if not you will have a whole bunch of angry guest. To make sure you have enough see Tip 1.

5) Keep your Guest Entertained, have multiple things going on so everyone is satisfied. Have some sort of sports game on TV, Dancing, Card Games, Drinking Games etc. If they are still bored give then a glow stick or something to play with, and if they don't like that, kick em' out because at that point they are just taking up space. Again see tip 1 for more info on space and its value. If you follow these Five Tips your event will be H O T and will continue to be talked about at least until the weekend is over. So listen to me be smart and you will be Happy.

Good Luck

The How To Blog: Knowing How to Throw a Party is a Great Skill to Have

I found this blog posting the other day while 'browsing' the blogspot world. I thought it would help throw a little lite on how to host a party.

Soon I'll write my own posting on how to throw a party, but until then I'll keep aggregating other people's words of wisdom on the topic.

Summer Thunderstorms and Emergencies, are you prepared?

As our name suggests we are from the Windy City (Chicago). And boy is that name holding true this week. We've seen Thunderstorms, Tornadoes, 75 MPH wind, and hail! Luckily our power didn't go out, but if it did you can be sure that we'd be ready with a whole host of SAFETY GLOW STICKS to light our way.

Why not use flashlights or flares you ask? Simply put because both of these options emit either a spark or heat to generate their light, and since you don't know if a gas line has been leaking or if its raining out this might not be the best of options.

Safety glow sticks are designed to be in storage for long periods of time while still retaining their ability to glow bright for hours. Easily used as signal lights, emergency lighting, or simply to keep the kids from getting too worried.

Please note that safety glow sticks are DIFFERENTLY FORMULATED from novelty glow sticks. They are made of higher quality chemicals to enhance not only the strength of the light but also storage ability and strength of the plastics.

Summer time is upon us, this means time for vending and making money!

It is undeniable, finally, that summer is here. How do I know this you ask? Well for starters the birds are back but more importantly so are the summer festivals.

Summer fest, Independence days, Carnivals, Concerts and picnics are here and that means large concentrations of families out enjoying the evening together. This is a perfect situation to go out and start vending Glow or other items.

Now some are asking "what do you mean by vending", what I mean is this is the perfect time to go raise tons of money for your club, sports team, Firefighters brigage, Fraternal order of the Police, or just even Yourself!

$50 of product can net you over $500 in an hour, and if you think I'm exaggerating then you've never done it. Why else do you think places like Disney World, or Six Flags hire tons of people to go out and sell inexpensive fun items?

The key to this, besides getting local government approval i.e. a vending license, is to make sure that what you're selling is a good deal and that the kids are happy when the get the items. The best situation you can be in is for your customers, and their parents, to be happy to see you and get something that they'll love. To this end LED items or Glow sticks are perfect, they entertain and occupy the kids while not annoying anyone else, stay away from noisemakers! Do this and you'll have plenty of repeat business to keep your pockets full all summer.

Lumi-Ton ® video is uploaded

We are pleased to announce that our newest Youtube Video, Lumi-Ton ®, has been uploaded to Youtube (or click below) .

We're really excited about this new item. It has the ability to be set on a single color, to rotate through the rainbow of colors, or to go to a wave effect setting where it flashes so quickly that you can only see a separation of colors when you twirl or move it quickly (check the video to see what I mean!).

For the mom's out there: This is made out of soft, flexible foam. The only hard plastic is on the very bottom where the button is, and where the battery compartment is. With that you can change the batteries to keep this awesome item alive for years to come!

Some people here say that it looks like a lightsaber, and others say literally a tube of light. All I know is that its fun and addicting, and my dog goes nuts when he sees it!

You can also find the Lumi-Ton
® for sale at: Lumi-Ton ® for sale at WCNovelties, Inc.
